How long will this take?

The Career Launch Coaching Intensive is designed as a 4-month program; however, it often ends sooner as the program is over when you accept your new role. The program officially starts after you’ve received your new resume, created a list of target companies, and established your list of contacts as part of our program prep.

 

Are there any guarantees for the different packages?  

Yes, there are various guarantees for each different package, which get stronger as the packages get better, however even our baseline guarantees are the best in the industry. 

For the baseline guarantee on all packages, you don’t even pay us until you are satisfied with the first draft of your resume, which we will be sending you via a non-editable, watermarked PDF copy. There can be virtually no surprises after paying (the most common cause of one-star reviews in this industry) because you’re paying us after seeing that first draft. If you don’t like the draft, and don’t like our ideas on how we could change it, no sweat because you have not paid us yet.

Secondly, we have a very strong transparency guarantee where, as part of our complimentary review, we are going to tell you everything we’d recommend you change about your resume, and even how to start some of the changes yourself if you aren’t ready to commit. If you look at the list of stuff we recommend changing and you think “Huh, that’s not so much, I can do that myself”, then GREAT! We are just happy to have helped! Either way, you will know exactly what you are buying, when you buy it.

What if I’m happy with your resume but then I don’t get any interviews?

If you buy our most basic package and are happy with your resume and follow our strategic application plan for six weeks without getting any interviews, we will offer you a strategic planning session where we will identify exactly what is wrong with your approach, or what you could be trying differently, and then work with you until you start getting interviews.

 

If you buy either of our flagship or premium packages, stay current with the program, and do not have an offer within four months of starting outreach and applications, we will refund your money completely, or work with you for free until you do.  Also, if you don’t have any interviews within six weeks, we will of course ramp up the coaching already included with these premium packages to spot fix whatever issues you are having.  

What Does “Good Standing” or “Staying Current” with the program mean?

Good standing simply means that you are following the program, but in short, this means you are applying to a certain number of jobs, and doing a certain amount of networking and company research, while also not missing our regular weekly check-ins.  This process takes the average client just 2 hours a week, with some weeks being significantly less than even that.

Think of this like traditional coaching, if you hired a personal trainer to help you lose 20 lbs, and then only finished one of their five workouts each week and refused to count your calories, would it be reasonable to be upset that you didn’t lose any weight? Of course not, and that is why we offer a conditional guarantee, with the conditions being that you follow our program.

If our system doesn’t work, we will give you your money back, no questions asked, but you must use the system and you must commit to an average of two hours a week.  

Why do I need to do anything? Won’t a perfect resume get me the perfect job?

Nope! It certainly won’t hurt, but if you want a great job, you’re going to have to find it first. Having an amazing resume is important because it prevents you from being disqualified for a job, it does not win you the job. You must do a thorough amount of company research, networking, and casual informational interviews if you’re going to want to win that dream job. This can easily be done in just two hours a week, but it has to be done.  

 If you want this to be as easy as possible, we offer personalized coaching programs where we answer all your questions, give you plenty of templates and resources, and help you figure out exactly who to talk to and what to say to them, which will save you a ton of time in the process, but just like with personal training, you’re ultimately going to be the one that has to follow the program. We will help you overcome any obstacle, but we can’t help you if you aren’t applying to positions and putting yourself out there.

 The reason we can offer guarantees as good as ours (and have all five star reviews) when nobody else will is that we demand the absolute best from our clients and only work with clients that are willing to put the work in. What you are really buying from us is your own time back, and the peace of mind of knowing that you’re on the right track, and that you’re protected with insane guarantees if it doesn’t pan out.  

 

How much time am I saving with your coaching program?

 The average job searcher spends 11 hours a week in the US looking for work, while our average client spends two hours, meaning our average client saves nine hours a week. However, because our clients also find new jobs in half the time it typically takes (three months instead of six, in the US), they end up saving an average of 248 hours, which is 6.2 work weeks of time. If your free time is worth more than $2 an hour, this is the program for you.

Why do you give away so much information before your clients have paid you, for free as part of your complimentary reviews, or just posted directly onto your website in your templates and techniques articles?

The first reason is transparency. If you know exactly what you’re paying for before you get it, you are much less likely to be surprised when you get it, and surprised customers are very rarely happy customers!

The second reason is integrity. If your resume doesn’t need the work, we’ll be the first ones to tell you. We currently talk about 5-10% of our prospective customers out of paying for anything, just because they clearly don’t need the help or could very easily fix the problems themselves, especially with a few personalized, quick tips, which we always include in our complimentary starter reviews.

 

Doesn’t giving away a bunch of free stuff lose you money?

Nope! Not in the long run, at least. We got this idea from a close friend who owns a great HVAC company. They start every house call by pointing out exactly what is wrong with the system, telling us if and how we could fix it ourselves, what we would save by doing that, and what to Google to verify their explanations. We always know exactly what we are paying for, and more importantly, if we need to be paying for it at all. What this approach loses in quick, easy, money, it more than makes up for with a very strong reputation and plenty of referrals! We’d rather have 100% satisfied customers raving about our business and telling all their friends than a quick buck up front, every time.

While you could just take the rubric and evaluate your resume yourself, we guarantee you’ll get massive value out of our free consultation, and we very much encourage you to do both!

Can I use your free service even if I absolutely know I can’t afford to pay you? 

Yes, absolutely! We do this because we get a lot of requests for help from folks that, frankly, can’t pay our rates, and we didn’t want to leave them out to dry. While we don’t have the manpower to offer a full coaching package for free, we felt it was important to put together a complimentary, starter-review package that would allow any determined individual to take what we’ve figured out over the years and make the changes themselves. This package contains a brief, personalized outline on three things you specifically can change about your resume to improve it, and a few guides and templates that will help you make those changes.

We have had the benefit of having many great mentors and coaches over our careers and suppose this is just our way of honoring those great men and women by paying it forward. Everyone deserves a chance at a good job and a better life for them and their families.

What Does Your Average Client Get?

Our average client starts at 10% over their original offer amount after we negotiate it and averages a 20% total raise from their current position, although we closed two clients in early November at an 80% and 70% raise respectively, so results can certainly exceed that. This typically takes under four months for clients that commit to the program, or under two months for the clients that either hit it hard or really lean into the networking.

Does your system work for students?

Yes, absolutely it does! In fact, the application framework we use was originally designed for students. The program works wonders for virtually anybody looking for a new role, but it works especially well for students due to the power of alumni networking, and how genuinely excited many professionals are to help a fresh grad out with their job-hunt, especially if they shared an alma matter.
